Being the perpetual student, a lap top is much better then a desk top. When I need a break from the kids etc to study I can take it with me to the library or coffee shop. It is really hard to lug the desk top around like that.

About a year back I bought a nice IBM thinkpad on craigslist for $150. It does not run vista, but XP, has internet, runs Open Office and the like and does the job, it is not up to date, but I believe it will acompany me for quiet some time.

Merilin, this is really ironic.
We found an IBM thinkpad on Craigslist for $150!! Weird, huh? It is running Windows 2000.
We are giong to pay cash and go pick it up today.
