Does anyone know a really good lactation consultant/dr in the Washington D.C. area? My friend has a 2-3 week old and is having some excruciating nipple pain. I have been giving her lots of advice but I would love to be able to recommend a lactation consultant...

What a wonderful friend you are that you are so concerned about her breastfeeding. I would suggest finding a La Leche League Leader. Here is the DC area Web site: http://www.lllofmd-de-dc.org/index.shtml Your friend can call a leader and/or attend a meeting in her area, plus all the help is free!
