thrush and pumping questions

Thread Starter
We have been battling thrush for months. We are on our third round. I just returned to work and am pumping several times a day and my baby is taking bottles of bm when I am not around. What is the correct way to clean the bottles and pumping parts in order to get rid of the yeast? I have been using dish soap and then steaming everything but I don't know if there is a better way. Anyone have any advice? I hate thrush.

I put mine through the sanitize setting on the dishwasher, but I also have my hot water heater cranked up to about 160 and I figure that probably takes care of it. I think you can also boil them if I'm not mistaken, but that probably depends on the pump you're using.

boiling every plastic or other like material is the only way I know of to get rid of thrush - anything that comes into contact w/ your dc's mouth or your breast.

i'd suggest checking w/ the pump manual or manufacturer before boiling that stuff. could be smelly & expensive if they shouldn't be boiled.

good luck battling the thrush & good for you for sticking w/ it & going back to work. what a wonderful mama!

I don't have any advice, I just wanted to say I'm sorry you have to deal with this.
I went through a persistent case of thrush with my last dd and I know how frustrating and painful it can be. Hang in there.
