I just remembered this thread.http://www.mothering.com/discussions...50#post8946850

How true was it for everyone?

My prediction was:
What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be sunny. Your baby will arrive in the evening.

After a labor lasting approximately 9 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 3 ounces, and will be 20 inches long. This child will have green eyes and a lot of hair.

--
It was overcast when I delivered. I labored for 6 hours and had a 8 lb 8 oz boy with blue eyes and lots of black hair.

mine was off..

The day you deliver, outside will be rainy. Your baby will arrive in the morning.

After a labor lasting approximately 4 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and will be 19-1/2 inches long. This child will have hazel eyes and a little patch of brown hair.

it was sunny, at 12:32 pm, labor was 7 hours, he was 8 lbs, 21 1/4 inches, blue eyes so far brown hair all over

I had actually forgotten about this!

"The day you deliver, outside will be overcast. Your baby will arrive at night.

After a labor lasting approximately 8 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and will be 22 inches long. This child will have green eyes and some very fine hair."

I *wish* I had only 8 hours of labor instead of 16! We have a boy who weighed 8lbs 7oz and was 21 inches long with blue eyes and LOTS of hair!

What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be windy. Your baby will arrive in the early evening.

After a labor lasting approximately 6 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 6 pounds, 5 ounces, and will be 21-1/2 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and some very fine hair.

But there is more. I sense that there are some ideas and emotions you cannot quite put a finger on. I suggest you read through a few of these pregnancy diaries to see how other expectant mothers have felt at this special time.

----

i think it may have been windy, and cold.
it was about 6 hours...but it was a boy, he was 8lbs 5oz and 20in long.
e did have blue eyes and fine hair.

mine was off too, although I did have a brown haired child! But her eyes are blue not brown, and she was 5 pounds 11 ounces not 7 something...

Mine was SO wrong.

Here it is:
"What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be cloudy. Your baby will arrive in the evening.

After a labor lasting approximately 3 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 5 pounds, 4 ounces, and will be 18-1/2 inches long. This child will have green eyes and a little patch of brown hair.

But there is more. I sense that you feel somewhat alone. Have faith; you are not alone. Why don't you visit the message boards and talk to other expectant mothers? I'm sure you will find you have much in common."

It was super sunny and cold out and she arrived at 12:38 AM. My labor was 13 hours and she was 4lbs 12oz and 18 inches long. She has blue eyes and red hair.
Hmmmm!

off for us too...

What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be cloudy. Your baby will arrive at night.

After a labor lasting approximately 7 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 6 pounds, 9 ounces, and will be 21-1/2 inches long. This child will have light brown eyes and be completely bald.

But there is more. I sense that you have thought about labor in the water. You ask yourself, "Why do women find it helpful?" I think you should look here to find out more.

The only thing right was arriving at night.
Wrong: Sunny, 13 hours labor, boy, 8 lbs 14 oz, 21 inches, blue eyes, hair!

off in every way! boy, born on a sunny afternoon after 12 hours of labor, 9 pounds, 23 inches with blue eyes and lots of dark hair

The day you deliver, outside will be foggy. Your baby will arrive in wee hours of the morning .

Nope. I slept in, woke up slowly, realized I was in labour after a good breakfast, and babe was born, pinked up, nursing, and comfy when we looked at the clock which said 3:30 PM

After a labor lasting approximately 2 hours,

Nope; it was twice that; four hours.

your child, a girl,

We've got functioning male anatomy here. I sure hope he's a boy and doesn't need surgery.

will be born. Your baby will weigh about 6 pounds, 8 ounces,

Nope. Eight pounds and a few ounces.

and will be 20-1/2 inches long.

I have no idea. It didn't seem worth making him cry to stretch him out and measure him.

This child will have light brown eyes

They were almost black at birth and have lightened somewhat but are still a very dark blue.

and be completely bald.

Nope. I've seen more hair on newborns, but never in my family. It's black (or very dark brown) and very straight without the slightest hint of curl.

My own prediction, however, is that... littlest dd will be my biggest newborn

THAT was correct, anyway, although "littlest dd" was actually "littlest ds" and was only a few ounces bigger than his sister, my second-biggest newborn.

It was wicked cold the day Bear was born, and he arrived in the morning. There was no labor, he's definately a boy, weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 20.75" long. He had pale blue eys at birth and they're turning lavendar and gray, and while he had hair it wasnt "a lot" by *anyone's* definition... and all of the dark newborn hair is falling out, so he's got this big bald spot in the front and looks more than ever like a little old man (especially as the hair growing in is quite blonde).

You know... I realize that there are too may variables for the entire thing, but you'd think that *something* would be right just by chance.
