Small felted pouch

I'd like to make a "ninja tools pouch" for DS's birthday. (He's stuck on the show Naruto, each of the characters has one, I'm thinking I'll cut some "ninja tools" out of foam for inside) Anyway, who's got a good pattern? I'm thinking finished size.... can't find a ruler. Make L's with your thumb and 1st finger, touch the thumb tips together; about that size. any suggestions?

How about just knitting 2 rectangles and seaming them up the sides and add an icord for the handle?

But is there a way to predict how much it will shrink when felting? Like it will shrink x% or 1/xth or something?

nak -- this depends on your wool. You might want to do a test swatch for stat purposes

I can't find it online right now, but for one yarn it is osmethiing like 85% height and 75% of width of original knit item... You might be able to find out by searching your particular yarn online. It is important to remember that just because you knit a square, when it gets felted/fulled it will possibly turn out a rectangle. ITA with a swatch to find out how it will end up. Good luck!

What yarn are you thinking of using? The knitters in this forum have among them lots of experience felting different kinds, so you may get a good estimate from someone who has btdt...

I'd knit a rectangle 6" by 9" (possibly 10")
