Before Cynthia and abimommy lock this thread let me state that I was using a public library monitor and I only had so much time to express myself. I sincerely apolgize for the misunderstanding.

I did not mean to hurt anyone's feelings. I was quoting Latino leaders. If you did not like what I said, you need to address your leaders, not me.

I quoted Xavier Hermosillo in the "wake up and smell the frijoles" statement", he is a member of MEChA and an activtist. He also said that "CA would be taken back to Mexico house by house and block by block".

I quoted Mario Obledo, a founder of LULAC, in the statement about ethnic cleansing. He is quoted in 1998 in a radio interview as saying that "CA will be a Latino State and that anyone who does not like it can leave or be killed".

I have that quote and will provide it by request, I certainly do not agree with this statement, but the speaker should take responsibility for the impact of their own words. NOT ME. These are not MY words. If they are offensive, you need to blame the speaker, not ME. I am warning you of what others plan to do.

I sincerely doubt that the Pope or Ghandi would say such a thing; that is a ridiculous statement. Why would you blame me for the statements of others? That makes no sense at all. It is like killing the messenger.

Oh for Pete's sake Miriam. I don't care if the Pope said it.. or Ghandi. It's offensive. It offended you to hear it, why did you think it was okay to pass on here? I could quote some Black Panther leadership on race relations, or KKK leaders but would it really bring is any closer to solving our differences? I don't think so.

"miriam', you shouldn't hid ebehind quotes. It was obvious that you thought those persons said things you agree with and that is why you posted them here. don't put the blame on the persons, take the responsiblity for agreeing with their views. Who cares that you were at a libaray anyway? I don't.

Do you realise the thread regarding this issue was moved twice?

You don't have to be quite so confrontational. While this is the Activism board, it doesn't mean it is the "jump everyone's butt board".
