I live overseas and during a one-year sabbatical (for my DH), I will be able to apprentice... in about 3 or 4 years. I will be visiting the USA this summer, spending about 3 weeks in the area where I'd be apprenticing.
Is it too soon to approach a midwife (and how?) and say that I'm seeking an apprenticeship in 3 years, I'm attending X school, have A/B/C skills, am interested in their practice because of Q. Could they save a spot for me? What could I do between now and then for them to want me as an apprentice?
I don't want to burn my bridges before I start KWIM? But I also know that face to face can be good and I only have limited time and visits for that. Any ideas?
