Wow!

I caught a show on Discovery Health last night about quints who were born 3 months early.

I was beyond thrilled that they discussed how the mom was pumping breastmilk every 3 hours, every day, around the clock for over 80 days ... and how the nurses were championing her as "The Dairy Queen" and giving her major pats on the back and encouragement. I also liked how the announcer didn't make it sound like this god-awful thing ... just a "knowing the importance of breastmilk's helpful antibodies to her premature babies, mom pumps ..."

It was great. Just thought I'd share a warm-fuzzy.

You know, I skipped watching that because I was afraid it would just upset me, kind of like most baby shows. Maybe I'll check it out next time it's on. A mom pumping breastmilk for five babies! That's wonderful.

Oh don't get me wrong, it is a very emotional hour. I cried the entire time (I would normally cry, but I'm 30+ weeks pregnant and it just hit me very hard). I got pulled away for about 20 minutes toward the end (when the babies came home) so I don't know how long she breastfed them once all 5 were at home. But still ... I was so impressed with all that pumping.

I saw that too a few weeks ago, it was amazing! I also missed the end of the show, had to tend to my own nursling
