washing floors with white vinegar

I have been mopping my ceramic tile floors with white vinegar and hot water and it works great.... except my house smells a little like a salad. Is there anything you can recommend to put in the water to make it smell a little nicer?

sometimes i put a little grapefruit oil in it or even a squirt of whatever dishsoap i use. it helps clean the floors and takes the edge off the vinegar smell as well. i always ask friends if our house smells like vinegar and they say no! (maybe they are being nice)

seriously, I add a little tea tree oil to my cleaning solution, my hubby doesn't think it smells much better but I actually like it... I like peppermint too but my bottle is almost empty and I've been cleaning a bunch lately... could use any essential oil, do you like citrus, maybe try orange or lemon.

I have orange EO in my vinegar spray bottle and it smells good and masks the vinegar smell well HTH!

I add fir needle oil, so it smells like Pine-Sol.

I add tea tree oil. It bothers other people but to me it smells like home.

ok I will go try to find some yummy scents. I did add a drop of my dishwashing liquid but either it isnt that scented or I didnt use enough.

It must just be me but I don't find that the vinegar smell lingers at all!

Hope you find something that works!

I use hot water, a squirt of dish detergent and tea tree oil for my tile floor. It works great. I did the vinegar,dish det and water for years but I'm addicted to the TTO now. I love the way it smells so clean to me. I used to just light some incense after using the vinegar to get rid of the smell.

I use HOT water, white vinegar and a couple drops of TTO and Lavander oils! Smells great!

i've been cleaning everything w/ vinegar for so long, i now associate the smell w/ cleanliness and it doesn't bother me. and the smell goes away very quickly too.
