I was wondering if you can estimate your baby's arrival by your subsequent pregnancies. I met a woman yesterday having her 4th child and she said all 3 of her children were 2 weeks late and she was now 1 1/2 weeks late with this one. I had DS at 37w1d and I am now 36w4d, this LO has been head down in my pelvis for 6 weeks but 2 weeks ago he dropped and I have been exptremely uncomfortable with hip pain, pubic bone pain, constipation and constantly having to use the bathroom. My BH have increased and sometimes I get them every 3-4 min apart. I was just wondering if he is planning on arriving early too like his brother. How many weeks did you all go with each pregnancy and was there any indication that your LO was coming?

I would say that at #2 you can't necessarily predict yet. Sadly.
I always drop/engage/etc early, so for me it's not a sign. I had prodromal labor for 6 weeks with my youngest before delivering him 2+2 late.
This time I'm NOT expecting baby before 42 weeks just so that I'm not disappointed if it should happen, but I truly don't know what to expect because my first delivery (twins) were induced at 34 weeks.

I guess I am very predictable as all 3 of my children were born at exactly 38 weeks 4 days. My uterus must have a calendar and it sends out an eviction notice 10 days early.
If we have a 4th...I will just mark that day on my calendar.

I think you would need at least two births under your belt before you attempt to predict.
Also, you have to be highly confident in the dating of each pregnancy - -you know?
First: 36 weeks 5 days (I am not confident this was accurately dated)
Second: 38 weeks 5 days
Third: 39 weeks 6 days
Fourth?? Sometime before 40 weeks I would venture to guess but who knows?

I've never yet made it to my due date, so with this #5 I'm figuring I'll most likely birth between 1.5-3 weeks early since that's when my other babies have come. Of course, I could be surprised and go longer, but I would be very, VERY surprised.
I've successfully targeted dates with three out of four babies. Two of them were born on the date, one was 3 days later, but I had an increase of prodromal labor on the date in my head.

My first three were born at 38 weeks, so when I was pregnanct with my 4th, I fully expected to deliver then as well. Nope, she was born at 40 weeks, 1 day. With my 5th, I expected to deliver by, or right around 40 weeks- she was born at 42+. When I was pregnant with my 6th, I thought for sure that I would go after 40 weeks as I seemed to carry them later and later...he was born at exactly 37 weeks. I'm lost on what to expect this time. On my DDC, I 'guessed' I'd deliver in my 38th week, but it was just a guess.
There's just no predicting with me, LOL.

My mo had both her girls two days early. one boy two days late, and one boy 3 weeks late.
SIL has septate uterus, so unusual condition, but went into labor at 35 weeks to the day with her first two, and has "planned" her due date to be the same for this one.
My current doula client has had three, 1, 1.5 and 2.5 weeks late I think, so she expected to go about 1.5 weeks over with this one, but she's 38weeks 3 days right now and had cxns last night for a few hours, and is now at 4cms- so we're contemplating that she could actually go early!!

My baby's gestations have been all over the map so I could never predict based on them!
#1 - 11 days late (induced)
#2 - 26 days late (on her own)
#3 - 28 days early
#4 - 1 day late

My first was 7 days late and induced, second was 12 days late and so I just assumed this one would be late too. I'm 35 weeks and haven't really gotten stuff ready yet because I figured I had tons of time. The baby dropped a week ago and I've been super crampy since. I guess I shouldn't ASSume that I have that much time, huh?

Well, out of my seven, my first was at 36 wks, my third was 42 wks, and my fifth was 39 wks. The other four were between 40 & 41. So, I figure it can jump around a bit, but I usually guess around 41 wks.
