New knitter with question about pattern

Thread Starter
I just taught myself to knit about a month ago. I found this sweater pattern that I would like to make for both my girls and I have a question about it (I picked this one because of the "very easy" in the title!)

The biggest size is 6, but I think I would like to do a size 8 for dd1 since she is closer to a 6x-7 in most of her clothes. How can I scale up the pattern to make a size 8 - or can I? I also plan to make one in size 4 for dd 2, so I would like to make them matching sweaters, but maybe in different colours.

Use larger needles than are called for in the pattern, or thicker yarn.

if you notice the stitches for the sizes are only 2 more each size add 2 more so co 40 stitches knit every row to 8 inches (since each size goes up and inch) see what im doing- just pay attention to the diffrence between the sizes and ass that to what is says to do for size six!

Knit the size 4 first and see how it fits. Take your elder daughters measurements- particularly arm length and length of back, as well as chest- and then check those with utopia's suggestion.
