i'm getting pretty curious, reading through all the posts, as to how often i'm going to get a shower when i have 2 babies!! *eep* i still imagine it'll be daily, as it is now, but i'll have to wait til hubby is home to do it since i'm not an early riser (though if i'm up with baby anyway before he goes to work...)
anyway, here are my tips (they are not quite what i do right now since i'm pregnant and have NO energy but i do try to look nice every day):
-mix second hand and new clothes so that you're not spending a fortune.
-if you live in a place where you get winter (as i do), invest in a nice pair of winter boots and a nice coat. we put a lot of $ into mine but i only buy new ones every few years so hubby thought it was totally worth it.
-remember: you are WORTH the effort and the money. i don't feel guilty when i spend money on myself but i know mamas who do. if you were worth it before kids, why aren't you now?
-buy a nice pair of dark denim jeans. they always look good.
-buy something to keep your hair back. mine looks like crap until i shower so i bought scarves that are like headbands to cover my hair. also, hats. brush your hair, put on the hair scarf, and go. example of one of mine here: http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n.../23w3d007a.jpg
-have a GOOD BRA. makes all the difference in looking good.
i do spend a lot of time in yoga pants but i try to put on a nice shirt regardless. nothing overdone. just clean and trendy.
i forgot to mention that when i get up in the morning, i just throw on a tee and pants/shorts and a bra, brush and cover the hair, and that's good enough if someone drops in on me. if i leave the house, i put on more decent clothes or i shower and dress nicely. i don't get to shower til naptime (3 p.m.) unless i put my son in our bedroom with a movie or something and take one earlier in the day. it was easy when he was an infant; i just put him in his bouncy chair or buggy in the bathroom with me! he didn't mind at all. just waited patiently.
