What do you use for shower curtain?

The "vinyl" or plastic ones are so toxic - especially when you first get them out of the packaging...so what do you use? (And I knkow they make ones that cost $$$$...but it needs to be reasonable!)

I have a fabric one - no liner. I've used it for about ten years. It goes into the washing machine and comes out just great. I think I paid about $30 for it.

You can get nylon fabric shower liners at most big box stores for $10-20. That's what I use--I hate the vinyl smell! They last forever and are easily machine washable. I think in the long run they're more economical than the vinyl ones.

I guess the vinyl ones would be toxic wouldn't they? That's what we have though...a really old vinyl one that cost me I think $3 several years ago. It's held together with duct tape at the top...At least it doesn't smell bad anymore.

One of these days I want to get a hemp shower curtain but, they are pricey. I absolutely DETEST the smell of the vinyl ones, I literally cannot breathe when they are new but, my MIL insists on using one.

When we finally get our own place I will talk DH into letting me get the hemp cutain.

We have glass shower doors in our master bathroom and I have a pretty lace curtain for visual appeal and privacy.

I also have a nylon fabric one. I haven't needed to wash it in years. It is maybe 6 to 7 years old and cost around $20-$30. Much nicer that vinyl and worth every penny, IMHO. It does not get mildewy.

I use a cotton canvas shower curtain. I love it. It works great, and I just through it in the wash every once in a while. I've had it for over fifteen years and it's still in great shape.
