dr. sears says that if newborn acne comes early (2nd week) and/or is persistent it could be a food allergy... so my 5 week old ds got acne when he was 1 week old and still has it. it is still only on his face, not getting worse, but showing no signs of getting better. ds is breastfed and we are vegan. i know wheat and soy are common allergens, but im not sure if i should cut them out of my diet (which is already so limited)... and should i cut them out together at the same time? or should i do one at a time... or wait a few more weeks to see if it gets better on its own....
ps. the first 3 or 4 weeks he was pooping many many times a day, but then he stared going once every 2 or 3 or 4 days and ever since then he seems a bit more fussy, so im thinking this may also be related to a food sensitivity...?
THOUGHTS PLEASE???

He also lost his hair on top of his head.Bald with acne...lol....It was really bad and lasted for a good two months. At the time, there were no food allergies in my or dh's family and he was my first baby, so I was clueless. Never stopped anything while breastfeeding until he started getting hives around five months...ended up being dairy, peanuts, peas and for awhile green beans and almonds. So, I guess it does make sense, because with dd and ds2 I was careful what I ate since I knew it ran in my family. Neither of them got any acne.
