Yep. I've listed a few times and haven't had nearly the response on the ads as I had in the old one. It is very frustrating, as all I really want to do is hook some other MDC moms up with some good deals and clear out some space in my house. I really felt like the old Trading Post was like that--it wasn't so much about making money, but about getting a fair deal on something you could really use. I feel like the new one is more about selling things. KWIM?

I haven't been to the new one once. I used to visit the old one maybe once a week just to browse.

I liked the old one better because there was way more traffic and a lot more people were buying/selling, so it was fun to check. I sold a few things on the old TP, but since so few people seem to even visit the new TP I haven't bothered to list anything.

I also fine the FFS/ISO combo thing confusing.

Totally. I can't navigate the new TP and I don't go there at all. And I used the old one quite a bit.

And I find it much harder to sell/trade now--I don't get nearly the response I used to, even on items that I knew would go quickly on the old TP.

And it seems kinda silly to me that you need to pay money to post an ISO thread.

Any hope of getting the old Trading Post back?

I've had some stuff for sale in the new TP for several weeks, and I've gotten absolutely no response.

I don't think anybody is aware of it. With the old TP system, it was all regular threads, and items for sale came up in "new posts". This gave people a lot of chances to see what's for sale.

With this new system, there's no way for anybody to know about it unless they specifically feel like browsing through all the items for sale- people no longer "happen upon the listings" while browsing MDC as a whole.

I'd post a link to my items for sale in my signature, but apparently I need to pay for a business membership to be allowed to do that. But it's not like I'm trying to sell WAHM stuff- I'm just trying to sell some clothing my kids have outgrown!

I don't mind paying 20 cents per listing, and I haven't had too much trouble navigating the new software. But what's the point when nobody can see what I'm trying to sell? Ebay at least has customers!

Is there any way this can be remedied? Can we lift the ban on siggie links for non-WAHM things we're trying to sell via the TP? Open a new forum just for links to TP stuff so we can bump posts and have them show up with the "new posts"? Go back to the old system? Offer both TP methods and let people use whichever method they prefer?

all i know is i have a bunch of stuff i wanted to list as free for shipping but knowone sees anything in the new TP.

we need to revolt. and make a club called bring back the old TP

I miss it too! I used to buy/trade a lot but now I almost never do. Whenever I browse there it seems like there is barely anything posted and hardly any responses. It's downright depressing. I'm about ready to sell off my medium diaper stash and some kids clothes but I'm not sure if it's even worth trying to post at the new TP now.

i miss seeing cool stuff pop up in new posts. yeah, the new one seems to be set up for people looking for something specifc. i'm almost never really looking for something specific....

I used to get homeschool materials, cloth diapers, and used kids clothes through the TP. Not anymore. I hate the new TP! Now I go elsewhere to get the things we need. And I post the carriers and diapers I have for sale on other boards instead of here.

Another vote for the old trading post. The new one is confusing and I miss being able list stuff in one post and not having to pay for an ISO list.

I definitely miss the old TP. I used to browse it every few days, but I rarely even bother visiting the new one.
