I need a therapist...

and meds probably... but with no insurance, what are my options? I could probably pay OOP for an rx, but I don't want to *just* medicate, when I really feel like I need someone to talk to.

Are there any therapists who will work for a sliding scale or something?

Most therapists will work on a sliding scale. In many states, it's actually considered one of the ethical responsibilities of therapists to offer reduced rates on a sliding scale. I'd definitely call around.

psi has a resource guide- go to postpartum.org. i found a support group through this that was free. as far as meds, (and i know this is terrible) my p.a. perscribed the zoloft i needed to boost me out of the hole so my insurance covered this without it being a mental health benefit. good luck and you can get through this.

I also have no insurance at all. But it's only $25 a month for my zoloft and I found a PSI group near me. I also found moms groups to make sure I stayed out and about more. I think sometimes just any human interaction helps as much as a therapist would. good luck!
