The biggest one is "Do it now". I have a bad habit of not finishing something. For example, if we finish a box of cereal, I put it on the counter to "take care of it later". When later comes, I have a counter full of things for later. So now I immediately take the liner out and break the box down and put it in recycling.

Same with dishes. I either put them from the table right into the dishwasher, or soak cooking pots and wash right after dinner or rinse measuring spoons/cups right away.

If I pull laundry out of the dryer, I used to be bad about taking it upstairs to do later, except when I get up there and think about it, I'm ready for bed, so we live out of the laundry basket because I do laundry about every other day and it just got more out of control. A few months ago, you literally could not see most of our bedroom floor because of the clean clothes. It occurred to me that I am being hypocritical and asking more of my kids than I am willing to do myself. I locked myself in my bedroom until it was all put away and now I time the laundry so I'm taking the freshly dried clothes up at my boys bedtime, so I put it away while they're brushing teeth and putting jammies on. And it takes me only about five minutes that way.

In case you're wondering what my system is now, I created a Home Management Binder from Theresa's (Knittin' in the Shade) tips. Except instead of designating days to do things, because our schedule is unpredictable, and we have a baby, I just made a list of things that I would like to have done each week. Then I divided my house into zones and rotate the zone each week. As I get things done, I use a dry erase marker and cross them off my list.

If you want my list of cleaning and zones, let me know. We're heading out to pick my oldest up from school now, but if you're interested, I'll be happy to type it out.

I've tried it twice and gave up. She just annoys me.

I had to choose "I did it and I quit" but that's not really the case. I followed it for a good long while and although I no longer get the emails, follow it or think about it, I simply have no need for it anymore.

My house is always presentable. Didn't used to be before Flylady.

I gave it a glance a long time ago and the thing that stuck was; "A sink so clean it shines" (Not sure if I'm quoting her exactly, but that's the way I remember it.)
I liked that idea and have tried to keep it. Dishes often wait till morning, but we have a double sink, so the dishes stay on one side and the other side, near the work counter, I try to keep shiny.

The last time I glanced at the site I read about cleaning the house in an hour (Again, paraphrasing how I remember it) 10 minutes for vacuuming, 10 minutes for floors and so on. I kind of like putting a time limit on things, or I become distracted and clean too thoroughly or stop cleaning all together.

I never signed up for emails or anything though.
And I never wear shoes in the house.

I'm hit and miss with her, but I use her site mainly for motivation and inspiration. The biggest thing she did for me was change my attitude to housework, with her "bless your house", and "home blessing" idea, so that I no longer resent housework but really feel like I'm creating a serene haven for my family. That has helped me enormously.
I also get my ironing done very happily by listening to her flyshow radio programme while I iron.

I did it for a few months and really enjoyed it. I don't enjoy the emails though, there were too many of them! Then I started going to school full time and fell off the wagon with it. I do the timer trick though, it makes house work a lot more tolerable.

I tried and failed miserably
