pages of book stuck together

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask, but one of our books with the thicker cardboard pages must have had something sticky spilled on it. Any suggestions on how to get the pages apart without ripping the picture off?

Can you split them apart at all? Try gently easing a damp something between the pages--maybe soak a bit of yarn and kind of floss the pages apart. Then wipe the sticky off thoroughly and dry.

Maybe try steaming the pages? Just hold it above a pot of steaming water (like you would steam the glue open on an envelope).

I agree. That's how you get stamps to come off an envelope.
