Itchy, Burning Breast

Hi all,

I am still nursing my 13.5 mo DD. A few weeks ago, I had a class at night after work so I got pretty engorged. I came home, she nursed, but after that for about two weeks my right breast was sore. The soreness finally went away, but now I am experiencing a deep, burning itch sometimes, and it doesn't seem to be related to let down or milk flow. Sometimes it just happens even when she's not nursing. I am ovulating, so I don't know if it could be a hormonal thing, but has anyone had any sort of experience like this? Sometimes the nipple feels itchy, but sometimes not. I felt around for lumps and bumps and couldn't seem to find anything, but let's be honest...half the time I can't figure out what the heck's going on in there when I try to do a breast exam. I just feeling a little panicky...

It sounds like it could be thrush.
