is it inside of my pelvis? my knowledge of anatomy somehow fails me

when i need to turn from side to side in bed, i feel like there's something fragile and creeky which starts like a tube around my vagina and goes a bit up. it is not a muscle pain. what is this? i've been having this feeling for several months now, but now it occured to me that maybe it is something i need to look into.

From what I can guess, sounds like pubic symphysis pain and I've had it for months as well. Basically, my understanding is, that your body is making extra relaxin which is giving a little too much stretch to the pubic symphysis area and the shifting of the pelvic bones is whats so painful. Of course, come time for labor, all that relaxin is a great thing for giving baby room, but in the mean time, it's rather uncomfortable.

For me it's very painful at night, especially rolling over or moving around in bed, and some days it makes walking extremely uncomfortable. I've found that my aqua fitness class actually helps a lot and I tried a chiropractor and a couple visits didn't fix it and we were too broke for me to keep going.

I have heard great things about going to a chrio to help it though.

Yeah that! This is pregnancy #7 for me and I have a suffered from this to some degree since #3. The chiro has made a huge difference for me. This was the worst I had had it. I do have a to go on a regular basis though, so it is costing us. But I was to the point that I couldnt even walk without extreme pain down there. If you can afford it, I would really recommend trying it!

I had SPD with my last pregnancy. Here are a few things that helped me.

Sleep with a pillow between your knees. Keep your knees together when you roll over. Keep your legs and hips parallel while rolling over. Try to get some exercise every day. Water aerobics and swimming seems to help a lot of moms with SPD. Avoid straddling movements and sit down to get dressed.
See a chiropractor!

thank you! i have no access to a chiro right now, but even though it is terrible at night, i don't feel it during the day, and fast walking actually feels good. i hope i don't have much longer to wait for labour and i feel reassured that this is not something that would be detrimental in labour.
