White bubble/blister on nipple.

My nipple was hurting like heck while nursing DS earlier, so I looked at it and there's a tiny white bubble thing on it. I have no idea what it could be. Has anybody had something like this before?

We're going to see our ped, who is also an LC tomorrow afternoon so I'll ask her too.

Thanks, that sounds like what it is.

Okay, the doc took a look at it and said it was a milk blister, and gave me a sterile needle (aaaaaah!) to lance it with. I've poked the thing so many times but nothing comes out of it, even if I squeeze it. It's staying the same size, and hurts soooooo bad when he nurses.

The other day I had some hard lumps on the side of that breast, which I assumed were plugged ducts. They are gone and that area feels much better, but the blister is still there and hurts just as bad.

I've been doing epsom salt soaks on it, hot compresses, olive oil to soften it, letting him nurse very frequently on that side, using different positions and making sure his latch is good. But nothing seems to be helping.

Any suggestions on what else I can do?

So you have tried to scrap the skin from off the top of the pore? Have you tried any gentle scrubbing? Sometimes a small amount of skin grows over the pore and needs to be removed. I am surprised the dr didn't just do it for you...

I've tried that too but I'll continue doing it.

I don't know if she technically could do it for me since it was an appointment for my son, and I only have health insurance for ds right now. I'm glad she helped as much as she did though.

I just wish it would hurry up and get off of my nipple! :
