I just read the thread about the arsenic rice (but didn't read the article, can't take it right now). I saw that two mamas mentioned their children had rice allergies or sensitivites. I read something that said in Countries where rice is a staple that there could be as high as 10% of population that react to rice.
I started a Total elimination diet with the following foods:
Free range turkey
zuchinni
sweet potatoes/yams
rice (white and brown)
pears
sunflower oil
sea salt
The reason I am concerned that my dd could have a rice allergy is that I drink a lot of rice milk, and also quite frequently have a smoothie with rice protein powder. I had one nearly everyday while pg with her. So I wonder if she could've developed a sensitivity due to over exposure.
She had muscle testing done twice, and both times the list was different, but neither times did it include rice.
I am NOT drinking Rice Dream milk on my TED right now as it has other ingredients. I MAY do the protein powder though, which has only rice and flavoring listed as ingredients.
I hate that I've gone down to essentially 6 foods, and now have to sit and hope and wonder if she is sensitive to any of those. It isn't fair. I feel like an anorexic, I'm getting such a warped relationship with food here.
Thanks for any advice, info or support mamas, I always appreciate it,
Tracy
