Help! Kool-Aid Playsilk help needed

My Kool aid Playsilks won't rinse clear.

I used 3 packets of red koolaid and 1/2 cup white vinegar. The playsilk was awesome in saturated color, but it won't run clear and set. After washing it, it looks more pastel than red now.

Can I re-dye, and if so, how do I get the color to set?

How long did you do the dye bath for? It should simmer for about 45 minutes. But the best indicator is that the color has pretty much been removed from the water.

Red is also a finicky color with kool aid.

IME it's 'cause it's red. Have only gotten ONE red silk (out of we won't discuss how many... : ) to rinse clear, ever.

Don't ask me how... I have no clue.

Thanks for the information.

I let it simmer for about 35 minutes. I think I'll try redying it.

And then I'll stay away from red.

Make sure it gets really hot too.
