Help! 38 weeks & yeast infection...

Hi Mamas,

I'm a new member, and a total lurker, but completely loving this site. (Maybe once the baby's born & I'm no longer working I can start posting & get to know everyone!)

We had a really rough last month around here, with everyone getting sick one after the other. After a bad cold, I developed bronchitis, ear, and sinus infections. Finally gave in & took antibiotics for two weeks. Like a fool, I didn't take acidophilus regularly during the meds, and now I'm realizing that I have developed a yeast infection.

I try to be as natural a mama as possible, so I don't want to contact my OB & get yet another drasted prescription. Anyone know of any safe yeast infection treatments for late pregnancy? I could have this baby any day, and I'm now worried about delivering with this going on (also worried now about nursing problems from yeast...)

I don't know, however I find Kyolic probiotics helpful. I take them internally (a lot) and then insert a capsule or two in my vagina. It does help even out the flora. I know it's o.k. to use topical yeast cream too.

Not sure if that's helpful or not, but it's something, right?!

Good luck. How miserable. As if you need one more thing. Yikes.

I would do probiotics and garlic. Hope it clears up for you soon.
