I don't know anything about it, really. Just enough to be fascinated. Anyone care to share links, or stories?

I like this link bec I'm bias (its from South Africa)

http://www.sustainablesettlement.co....strawbale.html

My friend Carey and her partner are in the process of building a cob house in the city, here in cape town... http://biophile.co.za/building/cob-in-the-city

What they did was invite people to come and cob one or twice a month and learn the process. In exchange, we get to stay in the cottage for holidays.. kinda like timeshare

Thanks for the links, eco mama! DH and I are serious about saving to buy land, building a strawbale house with cash and living off the grid. I had done a ton of strawbale research about 10 years ago when XH and I were considering building on some land he had inherited, but it seems that there is lots more info (and strawbale building going on) now. Exciting!

50. EYE I love the shape on this one and the concept of a porch all around it. Very cool.

51. Vicki (2nd one) For some reason it wouldn't let me link directly to this one. But I love the loft and greenhouse. The extra space in the basement I would use as my personal yoga studio.

Ok so those were some larger plans but I would go with something smaller and just add on another room.

Like this one.

This is nice too. And wouldn't need anything else. I love the options.

Okay, bumping this thread so I can find it more easily tonight when I have time to look it all up and bookmark.

Thanks for the links!
