Aluminum question

Thread Starter
I know a lot of people recommed Sigg cups in lieu of using plasitc sippy cups. Someone got me a Gaiam aluminum water bottle from Target recently....they seem exactly like the Sigg cups. My question is whether or not aluminum is safe. I thought I've read that it's safety is in question and there is a possible Alzhimer's link. I do believe I read here that people refrain from using alumimum baking pans for health reasons. Any info would be appreciated. :-)

That's been mostly debunked. But not entirely. Here's a good summary.

Aluminum ingested goes through the liver and is filtered out, virtually never reaching the brain (unless huge doses are taken, like Tums). Aluminum injected into the body via vaccines has no filter and pretty much goes right to the brain.

There's no aluminum in Tums... are you thinking of Maalox?

You might be right, I know Tums used to, but I think I am thinking of Rolaids or Maalox. Definitely check labels!
