I went to a very small fiber show/sale (it was actually a weaver's guild) today and I just had to share. I only knit, but I see spinning in my future (probably not the near future, though). It was so cool to see the wool go through it's stages to become yarn. And it looks so soothing and rhythmic.
There were several weavers there, doing amazing things on looms. Several spinners on different wheels (an ashland, a krumsky?, and a louet, I think) and also some drop spindles. It was very cool. I hadn't actually seen any spinning in action before.
Of course I couldn't resist a hank of handspun--6.7 oz of a wine colored wool/mohair/silk blend. It's my first handspun yarn purchase! It is lovely
