What is so great about Dr B's?

I just bought the baby mild wash and the lavender (lavender to use for cleaning) but why is it so great?
Is the castille soap a good "cleaner".....does it actually clean like soap or not so much?

Does anyone use it exclusively?

i keep a few brands of castile soap, not just dr. bronners but i use it exclusively for bath soap for myself and my 11mth old

also use it as one of the ingredients for dishwashing liquid, all purpose cleaner, liquid laundry detergent, and a few other cleaners i make.

i use it very diluted for shampoo, and diluted for hand soap.

so i do find it works

The trays for my food dehydrator were SUPER nasty having been put away last year without being cleaned. Ick!!

Not having any other good ideas, I put them in the bathtub, ran the hot water, added a couple of squirts of Dr. B's, and the next morning they were sparkly clean.

I think why we like it so much is because it's so basic... not filled with a bunch of chemical crap, and it's so versatile.

Plus who doesn't love that morning "zing" when showering with Dr. B's peppermint soap? And that label!

Its one of the only products sold in a 100% recycled plastic bottle!

There's a documentary about it that's supposed to be really good (its on my netflix queue)

"Dr. Bronner's Magic Soapbox"

I just heard on NPR that half of the olive oil used to make the soap is bought from Palestinian farmers and half of it is bought from Israeli farmers. A symbolic support for peace. Actually it is not just symbolic is it?

mammo2sammo~ I heard the same report. It was wonderful, and I forgot where they said to find the olive oil they sell from their Palestine/Israeli co-op.

I like it because it doesn't have a bunch of crap in it, it works, and it doesn't dry out my skin. It smells AMAZING!

And most of the ingredients are fair trade, and in many stores you can refill your bottle from the bulk bottle AND I find castille soap to be an incredibly effective all purpose cleaner...I especially love sal suds. I can clean my shower while I'm showering
