How do I get snaps OFF?

I feel really stupid, but this is what I get for trying to rush through a diaper with only three hours sleep to go on. I finished up DS' diaper this morning- pounding away merrily on my snap press- and when I went to check to make sure all the snaps would fasten securely- OOPS! I had put all the sockets on inside out. Every single, stinking one- 16 in all. : I would laugh if I wasn't so close to crying.

So is there a quick method for getting snaps off a diaper? I've tried using needle-nose pliers, but it takes forever- a good ten minutes pulling and twisting and I'm afraid I'll rip a hole in the PUL (not to mention little pieces of plastic snaps breaking off and flying all over).

The best thing that I ever found was a hammer...just smash the heck out of them and they fall right out!

Thank you! I'll give that a try first thing tomorrow morning! (sounds like a good way to vent my frustration at myself too )

I tend to put them in back in the press, but side-ways and push down gently until they break.

Sorry mama, what a pain!
