do we have a name thread yet? - Page 2

I need a "B" girl name and I am at a loss!

Everyone in the fam starts with a B which wasn't my plan, in fact if my first had been a girl, he woulda been Grace but he was a boy and we named him Brodin (grandma's maided name) and he became Brody and then us as a 3some because Bob/Bo/Bro so when the next one came, I was thinking what if we only end up with 2 and it is like Bob/Bo/Bro & Chuck (or something totally different) and then we loved Blaise anyway so we went with that and now we are stuck in the B thing. And I just can't find a girl name that is talking to me! Any ideas? The ones that I am toying with are

Bella (too popular??)
Bree (makes ya think of cheese??)
Bria or Brea (again, cheesey)
Becka, Beka (how do you spell this name - and I dunno, it is just ok)
Britt (it is ok, but is it dorky that my other baby girl is Brynn?)
Belle (too Lion King??)

whatcha love or hate? I can take it! Any other ideas would be welcome!

ETA: oops, I don't mean lion king for Belle I mean Beauty and the Beast. Not that it is necessarily ust that that is what it makes me think of

I just somehow stumbled over here and I'm not even pregnant. () But I knew a girl named Becca. Beautiful name. Belle isn't too Lion King! At least not to me...

Bo, I had a good friend named Bekka in high school, I loved the way her name was spelled! I thought it was so neat and different.

B is a hard one, I couldn't think of any off the top of my head! Well actually, I thought of Brynn...then I looked at your siggy (and re-read your post) and realized you have one of those!

Another B name that I came across randomly was Blair.

In college, I knew a Blythe and a Bronwyn, and I always liked both of those names.

Some random other B-names:

Blair
Bridget
Brianne/a
Brooke
Bethany
Babette
Barbara
Brigitte
Beth
Betsy
Brielle

We don't even bother starting with the name game until we know the gender.

Our girl name is Astrid (we've got 2 boys, so we've never gotten the chance to use it). As for boy names, we'll probably be going back and forth until the baby is born.

We've talked about a couple of names. Friday night he said he thought about Japanese name (no offense, but we aren't Japanese). LOL He just liked the way the name sounded *sigh* I told him meaning is also very important. I think this will be the hardest thing for us. LOL

There are some gorgeous names here ladies Dh has decided that he'll pick our boy name & I can pick our girl name Well, these will be the names:

Elias Rhys
Makayla Ramiah

I know he loves the name Elias for its meaning, same with Makayla so I'm pretty sure we're all set, but we did change Liam's name at the last minute. He was going to be Andrew until someone called him Andy & Drew, then I decided against it. But I can't see him as anyone but Liam now

We are stump'd as for a boy's name, but should we have a girl, her name will be Ruby Mae.
I am pretty set on Leah Marie (Lee-ah) for a girl and we have no idea what our boy name will be. My husband is pretty set on having his middle name be danger but that is NOT going to happen

Meredyth0315 - my son's name is Elias and I *LOVE* his name! Its a good choice IMO

DP and I are diggin' nature names so we're thinking our little girl will be Corinna River and we'll call her River or Riv for short. We also like Meadow and Willow.

for a girl Zaynab Ahmad and for a boy Amar Ahmad

i totally cant wait until i find out heheh

We're still fairly stuck, but our kids didn't have names until they were 5 or 6 days old, so that's not surprising for us! We should find out the gender this week, so we'll try thinking more seriously about it after that.

I'm currently thinking: Phoebe, Margery, Emilia, or Annabel for a girl. And Elias, Noel, or Tobias for a boy.

One thing that's throwing me is that I love Noel (pronounced "nole") but its such an obviously december name for an August baby. But I love the name, but it does have a Christmas sort of thing about it. What do you think?
A friend of mine has a son whose middle name is August even though he was born in April. I think Noel is fine for an August baby if it's your #1 pick!

on the B name topic...

I think Bree is much more popular now due to desperate housewives (I have seen it on some top whatever name lists.) It is cute - BUT I have a friend named Brianna, and when people shortened that to Bri in middle school and high school, she also became known as "Cheese". Like as her serious nickname all through college and everything. I don't think she minds, but apparently YES the name makes people think of cheese!

I vote for Bridget by the way!

I love this thread!

I really like the girls name, Fiona May...dh isn't so sure though, lol. I also like Agatha too.

For a boy's name, we are pretty stumped. I like Wyatt, but am not sure it is the right name for us, ykwim? Oh I like Elliott too. We aren't finding out the gender though, so this will be fun to take our time to decide on what name we like. Oh I like Noel too, no matter if it is an Aug. baby or not!
