Calling all those due a Virgo baby!!!

Okay - I have got some time on my hands. But my DH and I have decided to TTC December of this year. I would like another Virgo baby. When push comes to shove, I am not going to be picky but I am not in a rush so I would like to try at last for a Virgo if anything for the fun of it! - I am a Virgo and so is my son!...It just works well in the family! hehe

But its all slightly confusing.
When I got pregnant the first time with my son the MW asked me when the start date of my last period was to get my EDD. Based on this my EDD was the 16th September. But she did not ask me how long my cycle was - I am guessing she used the average 28 day cycle. But at the time my cycle was 30 days long. So based on her question and my 'real' cycle length - my sons 'real' EDD was 21st September.
He was born the 19th. According to her, 3 days late - according to my cycle lenth - 2 days early!
However - I know the exactly day the 'deed' was done so to speak...24th December lol... According to the 'date of conception' calculator (not based on period start date/cycle) - his EDD was 16th September - the same as my cycle as just a coinsidence! (though I know the spermies can sit around for a few days - so the actual actual date of conception could have been up to a week after that for all I know!)

But my cycle is now 35 days long!...I will continue to track it over the next few months but a 35 day long cycle makes it slightly confusing. Because if I try and figure out a Virgo baby based on my cycle - I can TTC as early as November 24th! - but thats a WHOLE months difference than when my son was concieved!!! How does concieving in November get me a Virgo baby? !!! lol - I am not seeing it! So based on 'actual conception' date - I should try more towards the middle of December. A whole months difference! I am not sure which dates I should trust!!!

So I am going to ask all of you - who are actually pregnant and due a baby that should be a Virgo (though I know babies come in their own time!!! - This is just for fun! hehe)...

Glad you're thrilled to have a Virgo. Not sure what it'll mean for me though. See, i'm an Aquarius. According to what i've read... Aquarius and Virgo are some of the least compatible signs. Just great. Oh, and my husband is a Taurus. Taurus and Virgo are like best friends... bah! My kid is going to hate me! I just know... they'll always run to daddy when I say no. So not fair. About the only thing good about it is that Virgos tend to be neat as a pin. I'll enjoy not having to clean up after my child all the time. lol. I do enjoy a clean house... but tell that to my Taurus husband! He's a lazy bum and loves to live in a mess. I made him clean up his mess in the room before he deployed. I told him that if he didn't it would be hazardous with a baby in there with us and who knows, I could trip. lol. Do you and your family get along with Aquarians? I've never known a virgo... so I really don't know what i'll be dealing with.

I really don't know very much about astrology--ok, I know basically nothing. Wikipedia is telling me that depending on whether you use the tropical or the sidereal zodiac, the dates are different.

Ok, well, theoretically, our babe will be a virgo.

What is your EDD? Depending on who you listen to, either Sept. 2 or Sept. 5
What is this based on? - Cycle or Actual Conception date? Sept. 2 is based on conception, and Sept. 5 is what my midwife and I worked out using the "all-knowing pregnancy wheel" to give me a little more leeway
How long is your cycle? (anyone else with a 35 day cycle? hehe) 25 to 28 days. In the cycle we conceived, I ovulated on December 11 (cycle day 13).
Have you had a scan? - How far along does the scan date your baby? - Is this completly different from your original EDD? I haven't had any scans.

Is the start date for TTC of November 24 based on the beginning of the cycle you'd like to conceive? If that's so, most likely, an egg won't be anywhere near ready to be released at that point, so conception isn't likely until much later in the cycle. Do you know what cycle day you usually ovulate?

Each time I started a new cycle I would go to the intmed website http://www.intmed.mcw.edu/clincalc/pregnancy.html to see when my due date would be. My cycles were pretty much 29 days each time. I knew what day I would be ovulating (give or take a day) so I would just adjust the first day of my last period based on what day I thought I would ovulate.

BTW- I had 38 day cycles when I conceived dd (I O'd on day 28)...and I knew what day I O'd on so my mw went by the conception date and adjusted my first day of my last period. So basically I guess we "lied" what the first day of lmp was since I was charting. She was a week late so it was good that my mw went by that otherwise she'd be considered a little over 2 weeks overdue....which would've meant the NST after 41 weeks. No early u/s was done...just the 20 week one and she measured right on.

If you're worried about your long cycles when you conceive and you don't have a provider who would take your word in your conception date (assuming you were charting and knew the ovualation date), then I'd get the first day of my lmp based on the ovulation date...which is easy using the intmed website and use that when giving the first day of your lmp.

So my due date for this baby is 8/24
Due date is based on ovulation date...otherwise it would be 8/25 which wouldn't matter that much but it does to me, lol!

I know when I ovulated, not just when I "did the deed." That is what I base my date on.

If it's that important to you, I'd recommend charting so you get a feel for when you ovulate and you can plan better. The time between menses and ovulation can vary a lot, but your luteal phase should be pretty much constant. Read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and/or sign up for the charting email class at fertilityfriend. That will be a lot more accurate than assuming your cycle will always be the same.

Thank you all for the replies so far!

I have never tracked my ovulation in detail. I go by discharge so I do not know how correct that is. According to that though, this month at least - I have O'd on day 20.
I will continue to track this over the next months along with my cycle length (as I am sure it will get shorter! - I came off birth control about 8 months ago which I feel is what has changed things for me cycle length wise!) - which is why I came off as I wanted to give myself at least a year of being off anything like birth control so my body could get back to what is normal for it!).

Not sure when I ovulated when I concieved my son though. It had only been a week that my period had ended at the time. I suppose I could have ovulated day 6? - (though I suppose they can sit around for awhile so I could have ovulated day 11 instead and got pregnant then? But then that means that I ovulate quite early on my cycle? Is it possible to get pregnant before you ovulate? lol - The female in my family are very fertile!!! lol)......I remember this as I hadnt seen my husband in a long time (due to I was in the Army at the time) and I though 'great - my period comes when I get some leave time!' lol...

Well this ovulation thing sounds confusing! lol
Ill stick with it though! - But I will watch this based on my personality!...I dont want to become obsessed with having a Virgo and be disapointed if I dont!

If I dont concieve right away and get a 'Virgo' - then we will be trying in March for a Capricorn and if that doesnt work - we will try in August for a Taurus - these both work really well with virgos hehe

We're a house full of Virgos. I'm sure this baby will be a Virgo, DH and I are both Virgos, and Cale and Dillon are Virgos. Poor lone Griffin. I have no idea what it's supposed to mean, though -- except that perhaps our house should be very clean? (It's certainly NOT!)

I actually got pregnant coming right off birth control. We gave ourselves 3 months leeway of months to try for a baby before he left. Got off the BC, had my period, and right when I was supposed to ovulate I did... twice. I guess my body was more than eager for a baby. lol.

You would have ovulated any time between the day you had intercourse and about five days after that. The sperm hang around for a while; the egg doesn't. There has to be an egg in order to conceive, so no, you can't conceive before you ovulate.

You say, "It had only been a week that my period had ended at the time." I'm not sure what you mean by that, but just to be clear, your cycle starts on the first day of your period.

You might tend to ovulate "early" in your cycle, but it's impossible to tell from what little information you have. Also, no matter how early you "usually" ovulate, there is no guarantee you will ovulate at a particular time in any given cycle. Ovulation can get delayed, and that's why people chart. I hope that makes sense.

My EDD is 9/20, and that is based on my own calculations based on conception date and period length. I used the site mymonthlycycles.com to do the math because I've been using it already to track my periods.

My partner is a Libra through and through and I'm an Aquarius with Libra rising, and we have a Taurus daughter. All that air and a little earth baby. On one hand I'm hoping I go over a couple of days and get a Libra, but on the other hand a Virgo might make a great companion for DD. My stepmother is a Virgo with all the "negative" virgo traits exaggerated (critical, judgmental) and together we were a toxic combination from the start (when I was 2). I have met Virgos I've gotten along with really well, so I'm not too worried about it... I consider my stepmother an angry anomaly. The majority of my past friends have been Tauruses (something to do with my moon in Taurus?) so that made me happy to have my little Taurus DD. I've seen a lot of stuff about Taurus/Aquarius being a bad combo, but in real life I've seen a lot of great Taurus/Aquarius matches.

What is this based on? - Cycle or Actual Conception date? Based on LMP of November 30. I don't know what day I actually ovulated, but I know we only had unprotected sex once in December, on December 10.

Have you had a scan? - How far along does the scan date your baby? - Is this completly different from your original EDD? I had a scan at 10w3d by LMP. The nurse practitioner thought it looked more like 11w, moving me up 4 days and giving me a due date of September 1. I disagree though and am staying with my original EDD.
