my child went, and we didn't visit, staff turns over periodically. It was through campfire.

I worked in a summer camp in NH a few years ago. I thought it was great. The majority of the kids loved it (obviously a few were homesick cos nothing works for everyone!) It was an all girls camp and it was great for girl bonding! Its called Camp Foss, there was a boy's camp nearby calle Mi-Te-Na and the two camps mixed for socials once a week.

We sent DS1 to 4H camp last year for the first time. We did not visit beforehand, but my husband's family is very active in the camp and MIL had gone to visit it earlier that summer with our niece. I was unsure how DS would do b/c he'd never gone away before but it was an awesome experiance for him. He has been talking about going back since he got home!
