Come On, Eileen by Save Ferris

besides being completely and wonderfully homoerotic, it's just the most rockin' version of that song, evah.

What cover of what song do you love?

And I think that Sarah Harmer's cover of Will He Be Waiting for Me rocks too.
Um, yeah... she is very rockin'. TY for turning me on to her. I am listening to Basement Apartment and...oh yeah.

Sarah McLachlan's cover of Joni Mitchell's "River" makes me teary-eyed each time I hear it. It's my favorite melancholy Christmas song.

Ooooh, that's a tough one.

"Tainted Love" from Soft Cell is definitely up there... possibly because the single had been a huge hit for ten years before I ever learned it was a cover. And the fact that it was originally done by a woman makes me feel all warm and fuzzy about singing the lyrics with the right gender to them. ;-)

Tori Amos's version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is pretty amazing. Then again, that woman makes me wish I was a piano bench (and I'm technically straight!).

Great choice
Do you know how many times I've been serenaded this song? (ok, mostly by drunk friends in college, but still! .... oh, and once by the rugby team (probably at the suggestion of one of my tipsy friends..), which was SO embarassing and I think I turned three shade of purple ) So that song brings back lovely memories

I cannot remember who sings this now of course. But some hard rock band did a cover of George Michael's Faith back in like 96 or 97 and I just loved it.

To early in the morning, my brain isnt' working, it's Limp Bizkit's version

Honestly, anything that she sings is just, WOW. You should check YouTube for their song called The Cat She Went a'Hunting. It's my new obsession.

I saw them in concert two weeks ago. It was fab!!

Bonnie Rait did a great cover of David Gray's Silver Lining that I love and I didn't think I could love that song anymore than I already did until I heard her version.

I like Godsmack's cover of "Good Times, Bad Times.

I also like Fiona Apple's version of "Across the Universe"

My favorite all time cover? Led Zeppelin's "Traveling Riverside Blues" originally written by Robert Johnson. That song totally rocks!

I also love "Johnny B. Goode" Just about everyone in the world has covered that one.

Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah.

I don't have a favorite...

but I really love cheesy punk rock covers

Prayer of St Francis by Sarah McLachlan. I'm not usually into Christian type things, but this prayer is just beautiful for anybody, I think. It's just something to strive to and whenever I'm feeling anxious or annoyed I turn it on.

I like Song for a Winter's Night by Sarah as well, though my favourite is still Gordon Lightfoot's version, I do think her version was good.

Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley...

Who Wants to Live Forever by Sarah Brightman. I love Queens version as well, but I love female vocals.

And this one is amazing: Walkin' After Midnight sung by Fiona Apple. I think she actually does Patsy Cline justice on that one.

Those are just a few of the ones I like.. I'm always interested in covers because I like to hear different versions of songs.
