Down Comforters + Duvet

I have had a down comforter for several years now, well actually we have two. I have a love/hate relationship with them. I love how fluffy and comfy they are, but I hate how the feathers get everywhere and the duvet covers are constantly coming off and they just don't stay in them right.

Does anyone have a solution? I have the little clips to help hold the comforter inside the duvet better and it somewhat helps, but not always. We have a couple of different duvet covers and where the comforter goes in, we always either have buttons poping off or coming undone.

I would not use a duvet at all but our comforters have seen better days (they are yellowing or something) so they just don't look that good anymore.

Does anyone have any ideas? Does anyone have something besides Down Comforters that they love???

We have wool comforters, covered with organic cotton that we really like. BUT, it's cold here, so we use them with down comforters. Our duvets have ties insdie the corners to tie the corners of the comforter into the duvet. it kind of does a number on the corner of the down comforter, but keeps them in place.

I recently bought a new quilt and use that on top of the down comforter. The bed looks nice and there's no need for a duvet cover because you can no longer see the comforter. Plus this set-up is super warm and cozy.

could you maybe try using more clips. I find I need an extra one at the top middle. I've never had button issues. I have one duvet from BB&B and one from Target.

That is a thought, maybe I'll look into that. I'm super lazy, its it easy to make the bed like that?

I use clips on the corners and then one on the middle for each side (if that makes sense) so a total of 8 clips? Maybe we are super wild sleepers? Can you supply me with links of the duvets you purchased?

Wow, wool and down, now that sounds warm. Our duvets don't have ties, can you give me links to what you purchased? Do you have any issues with the buttons popping off?

here's what we have on the "family bed"

dd duvet is "Bella" brand from Target. It's about 4yrs old and I can't find the print anywhere.

one thing that might help, is getting a duvet with buttons on a underside flap. Hard to describe, but my duvet has the buttons at the very bottom, so you can sometimes see the comforter showing at the bottom. Which might be putting extra strain on the buttons.

I was having issues with our comforter not staying put in the duvet cover as well. I had the corner clips, but like everyone else, the comforter just wouldn't stay put in the middle. I've resorted to using small safety pins all along the top - since I pinned from the inside, you can't feel them at all.

I've never had a problem with my duvet covers until my old one finally died ( it had a zipper) and I bought a new one. The new one was a nightmare, so I took it off. I think it was the fabric it was made out of.
