I am so saddened.

I was married to ex dh for 6 years, together for 7. He had two nephews and a niece who I was very close to during those years. They were 2,3 and 5 when ex dh and I met. The 3 year old was the same age as older ds, so they played all the time together and was at our house all the time. Then ex dh and I split up, he dated his brothers gf(nephews mom) so it made is very awkward and I never saw nephews or niece again.(do i hear someone chanting jerry in the background? lol) anyway, to make a long story short, the nephews and niece are now thugs. They drink, do drugs, have been to juvy and are in bloodcript gangs. They are 13, 14 and 17 now. The 17 yo has pictures of her boobs on her myspace(down her bikinni top but still) and they are all pictured smoking and drinking and thugging out. I am so sad for them. I loved those children, they have terrible environments, they dont know any better their dads are in jail and their moms both just got out of jail. I just see their sweet faces and want to cry. That is all.

There is a little girl the same age as my dd whose family we know in a Jerry Springer way. Like your niece and nephews, you could see from a country mile how the girl was going to turn out, at least for the teen years and beyond that without a miracle or major life changing event. She is on drugs, having sex (nothing wrong persay with that, but she is having dumb sex with low-life type guys), failing every single class, been locked and just overall a m.e.s.s.!

I wish there was an easy way to fix what are often viewed by society as "throw away" kids
