Need help planning a nb wool stash

I wasn't knitting much when I was pregnant with my first. Just picked up the needles after a 27 or so year hiatus and knit her a hat and booties. Then I started cd'ing her at 9 mos and totally caught the bug and have been working on my SABLE ever since.

Anyhoo, newly pregnant now with #2 and since I can't concentrate here at work, thought I'd try to actually make some progress on the nb wooly stash details.

How many of everything would you knit (or have knit for you?)

I'd like to have soakers, longies, kimonos, sleep sacks, booties/socks and caps. I may or may not knit something big and tortuously boring like a seed stitch blanket (seeing as I haven't finished the one I cast on for last July for a friend's baby).

I appreciate your thoughts!

longies were my favorite, so I'd have lots of those--2 newborn and 3-4 smalls. I only use knit soakers with dresses, so I only had a couple. But if you have a summer babe and use gowns, I think soakers would be great (and take less time to knit than longies!)

I guess it really depends on when the baby will be born and how you think you'll dress him/her! But, lots of longies, IMO and a couple cute sweaters (cardigans are my fav).

I don't have the stamina for a blanket, so I just bought a nice knit one!

I'd absolutely do a few hats, depending on weather. And a couple cute cardigans. I'd make the sweet newborn stuff out of uber soft wool- the small stuff doesn't take much yarn! I love malabrigo and the handpaintedyarn bulky merino!

I've had a hard time deciding this myself, and basically came up with the plan that I will knit as much as I can knitting what's most important to me to finish first. I want a few longies, and a few soakers. I want one kimono, I am hoping to make some sun hats, and a vine lace hat that is really sweet, Im already working on her baby blanket, and I want to make her Magknits Blossom, and Knitty's Anouk, got the yarn for a few of these projects, just need to finish the blanket and start the next set, and of course some booties too.

I love the look of these booties.

I had 2 longies, 2 shorties, and 1 soaker (we don't use those much so I didn't make a ton). After DD2 was born (I didn't use wool with DD1 until she was older) I also made a wrap for a total of 6 wool covers. There were some days I would have liked more but overall 6 seemed to be a good number. All those were newborns. She currently has 3 shorties, 1 skirtie, and 1 soaker in size small.

I had ~3 pairs NB longies and 4 pairs of small longies. FOr Next Baby, I will probably focus on soakers in those sizes- DD didn't use her mama made wool nearly as much as I hoped because most of her clothes were one piece footed outfits

I'd also love to focus on cardigans and hats more....

I can see doing one full set especially for next baby- a blanket, cardigan, hat, booties, and longies and a dyed/handpainted shirt to match. Then I'll probably do 4 soakers in NB and 4-5 in small (I grow and birth large babies who seem to grow slowly on my milk...).

I have been stash busting and I have knit three more pairs of longies in small already with what I had lying around....

So helpful, mamas, thank you!

This baby is due 11/23 so, I will need to keep this one toasty. Plus, we'll be moving from our radiator heated condo (where heat is included in the assessment) to our single family home where we'll be paying for heat separately for the first time ever. I'm sure our home won't be as hot as our condo (we kept windows open in the winter - and we live in Chicago!),
