So, am I the first?

The first to... get a post-partum period?!?!

Yeah. I"m 99% certain that the bleeding I've had today is in fact my first post-partum period. At first I thought it was just my lochia getting heavy again (you see, it hasnt stopped) but there's entirely too much blood for that. Either something has gone HORRIBLY wrong or I am menstruating. Now. At six freakin' weeks postpartum.

There are Gods... they LOATHE me.

I thought I was getting mine last week but it looks like it was just a day of killer cramps, although I'm still waiting for it to show up. Just in case it's lochia and something is amiss, watch yourself and try to rest.

Oh, oh, I know this one!!!! At six weeks, it's still considered lochia. If you google it, it's surprisingly common.

BTW, you're the second It only lasted a day or two for me, though- and I decided to stick my mooncup in. There's still some lochia, but not tons...

I don't think it was much later with Phoenix, thanks to the ^&()(*& formula at the hospital for jaundice that wasn't even that bad. The silver lining for not being able to pump is that I should get almost a whole year without a visit...if I figure out how we're going to survive financially...

And of course at my age it's entirely possible, although not a pleasant thought, that I might never bleed again.

I had a full on period at 3.5 weeks with Bean; This is about the same. It sucks. I've got lochia *too* this time. Icky icky. With Bean, though, at least my bleeding had stopped entirely before I started cycling agian.

NOS- People are so different from one another in that respect. I have a feeling, just based on family history, that I'm going to be menstruating WELL into my fifties, if not beyond, and ovulating at least until I'm 54.. which is kind of a frightening thought to me.

Two full days and no signs of stopping-- consistant with my first postpartum periods of days gone by...

Well, you could still have many months until the second...:

NOS. I suspect I might be in the early menopause boat myself. My mum didn't menstruate again after I was born (39) and with the difficulties I had staying pregnant before River, it feels like my fertility is already declining. I know enough people who are perimenopausal in their early 30s to believe its possible

Hang in there! I'm only 3.5 weeks post delivery, and still having lochia every once in a while. It's not all day long, but it is often enough that I still have to wear a panty liner 24/7.

Also, good luck to those hoping to avoid a period with bf-ing. I nursed DS exclusively, and my cycle still came back at 4 months and was regular from day one. He had never had a bite of food or a sip of anything but my milk, and was still nursing every 2 and a half hours in the day and most of the night when my cycle started again. I have to admit that I was pretty bummed that I didn't get a longer break. I was at least hoping to make it until he started some solid foods.

We'll see what happens this time.
