Need help writing picture books for DS

I went to the library yesterday and was dismayed at the fact that there were no breastfeeding or babywearing books there. I saw some on Amazon and might buy those, but I got an idea: I could make picture books for Jamie about these things. I would take pictures of him nursing or in his sling, whatever the subject of the book is, and write a little story about it. I don't know how I would actually *make* the book, though, or if I would try to get them published. They're mostly just for his benefit.

I've made books for my sons before by drawing pictures and handwriting the text, but they don't look that great - lol.

If you are using real pictures, you could scrapbook it. You could also try something like shutterfly.com. You could make a scrapbook through them and add text to the pages. I've never done it but have heard that they are good.

On this site is a book about a breastfeeding toddler. Other than that, you could try using a self-publishing site like www.lulu.com or even just a photo printer. Most of them now also make mini albums that you can also type sentances into.

You could try looking in a teachers' supply store for blank books. Then you could glue in actual photos and hand write the text or use a computer program to make a pretty page of text + picture to glue in.

you could make up the pages and take them in to be bound, i think most office supplies/ printing places do this, as well as some libraries. They can spiral bind, which is that metal wire binding, or plastic binding, i forget what its called but it is that black plastic edging with spirals to hold it in place. That or you can do your own binding using an awl and some thread, just search on google for bookbinding, i did a project in highschool where we bound our own books, it gives it a lovely hand crafted look, and there are heaps of styles.
