My new thing is to write letters to my local newspaper when I think they should have mentioned the benefits of breastfeeding. Here is a link to my latest article victim:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...031403416.html
The article is about a mother's decision to get surgery for her toddler to install ear tubes to drain his ears, printed in the Washington Post Health section. I think it does a good job educating parents of toddlers who may be going through the same dilemma, but I kept thinking about the future parents out there who are reading that article today who would benefit from knowing that this entire traumatic experience (high fevers, antibiotics for months, speech delays, surgery, etc.) could be avoided by extended breastfeeding. Arghhhh!
Anyway, I wrote a letter to the editor and I hope it gets published.
Just wanted to vent... I'll update whether they print my letter. (could be several weeks...)
