Well, now, if you're not backing one side, are you backing the other?
Ever since the incident where an Italian news company
apologized to a not-to-be-named group for reporting the story of a murder this group committed ... and also publishing pictures of members of this group waving bloody hands at a cheering crowd ... it's been obvious that the press from any country is honestly dishonest. And they're beholden to petty dictators and local nonsense, so they cover their behinds more than cover the news.
It's a solid point that those countries/places with a free press have an opportunity for a variety of opinions, and we get to choose which ones we want to accept and which to reject.
Ms. Amanpour has an extraordinary record and extraordinary career. However, she's shown her inability to be objective, too. By literally and specifically cursing at a head of state she disagreed with during an interview, and at the same time being obsequeous and fawning to an absurd degree to the leader of the "other side," even though he's internationally condemned as ... well, anyway, she's under the same personal imperatives that any other dishonest reporter is: Get your point of view across any which way you can.
