Zoloft question and other

Hey ladies,
Background-I went off zoloft (yes without dr approval) well accidentally. I was sick and couldn't swallow and was too out of it to remember to take it daily. So, I just stopped taking it. I am also weaning off of Xanax and hope to be off it by June (slowly decreasing amount, dr did approve that)

So, i would like to start treating naturally. Any advice?

My depression is linked to hormone adjustments and sleep deprivation. I am adjusting to my postpartum hormones and sleep deprivation is held at bay by dh taking every other night with dd.

so, what do you think?

how long have you been off the zoloft? I would go back on it and taper down slowly. VERRRRRRY slowly. Depending on your dose, I would halve it for about a month, then halve it again, and again, and again until you are done. You are risking some unpleasant physical side effects if you go cold turkey.

You can try supplementing with Vit B while you are weaning.

I agree. I'm taking zoloft and talked with my dr about going off and she told me to start tapering slowly. I've been taking half of my dose for a couple of weeks now and have an appointment with her to see how that's going. We'll go from there but probably continue with the half dose for a few more weeks.

I am in agreement with tapering very slowly. I've been decreasing my dosage over a span of months with lots of support from a very knowldgeable wholistic doc. Cutting my dose in half was way too fast for me. I've had to decrease by 1/4 dose at a time and stay to each new dose for 3 weeks before decreasing again. Take it slow and educate yourself about suppliments to support you through this transition. Inositol and Iodine have been key for me.
Be kind to yourself, mind and body!

I tried this too (I ran out of my prescription and thought, "This seems like a great time to go off of Zoloft!) Many problems ensued and I would not recommend this method to anyone.

Good luck!
