Dying prefolds?

Thread Starter
Hi all,

My DD has just moved up a size and I bought a whole bunch of premium sized prefolds. I have been looking at the pretty color prefolds online and want to see if I can dye them.

Any expert dyer's out there? How do you go about it and what would I need to get? Any input appreciated!

I personally won't do it. I am not comfortable with DD wetting herself on dyed cotton and that being next to her skin for any length of time. But check out this forum...

I dye and sell them. I use procion dyes (you can read about the process on the dharma trading site), which don't bleed or fade.

I just dyed a bunch using Dylon that you can buy at Joanns or Walmart. I saw a tutorial over at Diaperswappers and its super easy. I dye either in my ss sink or in a plastic bucket. I love how they turned out!

I really want to dye mine this summer too. I'd love to read more about this.

DH dyes for me using Procion dyes from Dharma. It's really, really easy - you should try it!
