Where did you get your cloth shower curtain?

I'd really love a cloth shower curtain, but they seem really pricey. I found an organic hemp one for $69! Where would I find a cheaper one? Is it possible to make one? What sort of fabric would I want if I were to try that?

Thanks!

I got mine from Beanproducts.com and I think it was about $40. It's made of cotton duck if that'll help you make one. You do have to be careful about keeping it dry to avoid mildew stains but I'm lazy so I just dye it when the stains get too bad.

I don't know if this counts, but I bought a cloth one at Target... for really cheap... I think maybe $12. It's not organic or anything, but we love it. Washes really nicely.

Our cloth one was from Target too. I think it may be some sort of polyester blend? So, def not organic, but it was cheap. And we've had it about 3 years or so and it has held up well.

Target. Not organic, but we've had it over a year and it still looks good. I think I got it on sale for about $10.

Is the cloth shower curtain from Target is thick and absorbant enough to use without a liner?

I got ours at Bed, Bath, Beyond for about $15. We've had it 18 months. I've washed it only once, and it was mildewed by that point!! But it came clean easily with oxyclean and does not look at all worn. I also scrub the bottom once a week with a scrubbie sponge and vinegar.

It IS the liner. There is a decorative outer curtain which rarely gets wet.

I just got my most recent one from Garnet Hill. It is a nice thick cotton - good quality. I have had hemp ones in the past that were about $90 and I wouldn't do that again (mildew problems here) so this felt like a reasonable alternative for quite a bit less $. I am using an inexpensive nylon liner BTW that was about $8 I think (and no PVC - woohoo!).

We use a cheap cloth liner from Target (probably around $15). I wash it whenever it starts to look a bit slimy.

Mine is a thin cotton and it works great. You can spray the shower directly on it (dd tested this) and no water goes outside the bath as it just drains to the bottom of the curtain and into the bath. I think it is better not to be 'thick and absorbant" so it dries quickly and doesn't cause mildew. A polyester blend would work better in this case as well.
