Talk to me about junk mail - Page 2

I can't look for the link right now but google direct marketing association DMA or google stop junk mail. There is a site where you have to give your info and even a CC # to verify your identity but it does stop. If you move, you have to re-register.

The "current resident" ones are usually from the DMA and if you call the company, say Garnet Hill, they will say, "Oh, you're not on our list, we can't take you off, it's coming directly from the DMA..." If you do order something from a company, you have to call or email them to take you off their list. It can take a little while because often the catalogues are preprinted with your name already on them.

HTH!

One day when I was home sick I went through everything in the about to be shredded pile. I had printed out a bunch of little slips of paper that said "Please remove us from your mailing list. The Masel family." For everything that had a free return envelope I tore off whatever had our address on it and stuck my note to it. Then I mailed it back at their own expense.
