This is my Sahara out of tweedy silk. Tweedy silk is not a fantastic as it may sound- it is a total utilitaian yarn- ok- but hard to work with on siz 4 & 6 needles. I am finally about half way though the second sleeve. I finally figured out magic loop and it is so much better than dpns. especially my dpns (cheap metal ones that kept falling out of my knitting.) My goal is to finish this by sunday- I really want to wear it with my new pretty shoes (dang it I should post a pic of those but DD keeps running off with them).

This is my cables and lace kimono so far. It is in Elann Incense. I love the shine and luster of this yarn- and for such a price- well it is a good deal I think! The parts are really beautiful. My goal is to get this knit up by next Saturday to wear to a wedding. That is a crazy goal unless we have movie night at our house every night untill then! No really- I think I got the front panel done in a long evening- it goes pretty fast.

So.... What's everyone working on?

Those are some great projects. Well done!

I'm just a newbie with the needles. Still trying to get squares and rectangles (washcloths and scarves) to work. May get brave and try a hat or simple mitten pattern next?

Simple pattern suggestions?

Everything is up-to-date in my blog. I've just frogged the Sylph cardigan from IWK for me (didn't like the yarn) and I have a sleeve and the neck left on a KPS jumper for Isaac. Oh, and I'm knitting Lizard Ridge : PLEASE don't tell DH how much Noro costs???

The alpaca from Sylph is going to be the Labrynth sweater from Stitch Diva instead...

I'm working on finishing up some projects....

I have one sleeve and the seaming to do on the roll edge cardigan in peace fleece DK for my 18 month old--this will fit next fall/winter as well.

Second sock--my first magic loop (love, love, love it...never thought I'd say that!)--in bonkers hand-dyed wool.

After these two are done, it's on to finish the Crumpets I started last year .

It seems like these things are taking me forever--I really want to start something new!

OK- here is the deal about cables- they look so much harder than they really are. I put off learning because they looked so complicated. But I swear they are easy. I pinch my stitches instead of using a cable needle- that is so much faster and easier...

As for easy patterns- find one that you love and go with that one- don't look fo something that is just easy- if you love it you will have more incentive to finish it!

Helen and Melissa- beautiful knitting! I should try magic looping socks- but that requies buying new needles! Hmmmm As for the price of Noro- cheaper than a lot of habits/hobbies.
