Why would there BE scar tissue there?

OK...had an OB appt. today. Her major hangup with my VBAC is the placenta's location. I did have an US to check on it. (Granted this was back at 26 weeks.) It's high and posterior. OK, that's great. Today she rambles off that there's a (in her opinion) 25% chance that the placenta will have embedded into the scarring. But would there even BE scaring in that location? : I had so many things in my head and other things to discuss, this didn't even sink in until later.

That sounds perfectly ridiculous to me. The scar tissue would be low and anterior, the exact opposite of your placenta's location, unless we're dealing with the first ever case of a placenta migrating downward. Have you had other procedures besides the c/s that could have left scar tissue that she's referring to? I think "rambling off" is a great characterization... she sounds like she'd like to re-section and is grasping at straws for an excuse. I'd love to hear what she has to say if you ask her about that.

Yeah, so would I...and I plan to call her today. Geez, even my DH said "I'm pretty sure they went in through your front side."

And, no, no other procedures.

Maybe she just forgot the results of the u/s, and was just speaking of general statistics?
