is there a diffrence with dk weight and worsted that im not understanding?

DK weight is a bit lighter then worsted.

Nope. You're not a dummy. It took me quite awhile to understand yarn weights. And a lot of other things about knitting too!

When I was looking for bulk yarn I emailed a person to see if they had a particular one I wanted and asked that same question. She said DK was more of a UK thing and worsted was US but they were both essentially the same thing. DK is often a "light worsted" here in the US. Made sense to me but not sure it's legit.
