natural hair dye

Im looking for something more natural than the stuff bought in dept. stores. I am looking for something not red though, more brown (either dark or light).
yes im vain, I hate the grey's.

I use Naturtint and I love it. I have been using it for about 10 years.

I second the henna...I've used it and gotten great results.

A mixture of henna and indigo will give you a dark brown color. There are lots of pics of real people on www.hennaforhair.com.

The only problem with Henna is that once you use it you can not dye over it until it grows out.

Yes, you can if it's a Body Art Quality (BAQ) henna. The hennaforhair site does a good job of explaining this and why you cannot trust what's in henna you buy off the shelf of most stores.

I dyed over henna (and henned over dye) for years, because I wanted to get a brighter color, and never had any problems with my hair turning green or falling out or anything. Of course, then I read the website and realised that if I just used an acidic liquid instead of water, terped, and left the henna on longer I could get the color I wanted without all the extra bother of dye.

I think it is called NaturCare and it is from Italy. If I get more information I will come back and post, but I have used it and it leaves my hair soft and covers my gray. It is also easy to use!
