Natural detangler to make or buy?

My dd has curly hair, and really needs something to help with the tangles. I did a quick search, and someone suggested an acv rinse. But, I thought I had heard that acv can be kind of harsh to little heads. Is there something else that might be more gentle?

Thanks!

My kids are bi-racial, and dd2's hair is very thick and curly and coarse. I use the California Baby detangler on them, and we love it. It gets rid of the tangles and leaves their hair really soft and smelling great.

I have heard apple cider vinegar works as a detangler as well.

Check out http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/ and you will find more info on hair than you could ever imagine! I've tried ACV and my hair doesn't seem to like it, but lots of other people love it.

Especially check out the Recipes area of the forum. If you don't see anything right away on detangler, you could join and post in the recipes area that you are looking for recipes to try for that.

Also I know there are a lot of resources for curley hair on there in general, besides just detangling.

We've use ACV dilluted (maybe a teaspoon for 2 cups of water) in a spray bottle. It works well!
Once we stopped using shampoo on dd, we didn't need a detangler, though.

I am African American, and I just made the transitions to all natural hair. My son is bi-racial and he has tight spiral curls(and lots of frizz). I had a heck of a time finding products that were natural and worked in our hair. When I finally did, I decided that why make someone else rich, when I can buy the products in bulk and make them myself. So this is what I use/make:

Our detangler/leave in conditioner is BTMS, water and honey.

BTMS is Behentrimonium methosulfate and is the mildest hair-detangling ingredient available. It is made from non-genetically modified rapeseed oil. This scientifically sophisticated ingredient is renowned for its superior detangling ability, without causing build-up on the hair. Unlike other hair detanglers, which are known for their irritancy, behentrimonium methosulfate is extremely mild, being recommended for use in baby products which are left on the skin. It is superior in effectiveness and mildness to it's commonly used cheaper cousin, behentrimonium chloride. It is not a sulfate.

I put this in our detangler, in our conditioner, our curl enhancing lotion and my skin cream(all of which I make). It makes our hair super soft, and the comb just slips through our hair!
I get it from : www.lotioncrafter.com
I get the other bulk products from:
www.oilsbynature.com(very slow shipping)
www.soapersupplies.com(she is super fast at shipping)
