I bought some of it to make a "cushion" to put on the wall where our bed is pushed up against so when dd rolls around at night she doesn't hit the wall (we were using a pillow but that's not working) I just opened the package of foam and it has a strong odor....like paint or something. I am airing then out right now. I tried to see if I could find anything doing a google search, but no luck. It does say hypo-allergenic and I plan to cover it with fabric, but not sure if that matters. Anyone know if it's safe?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

try googling polyurethane.

I would not sleep near it. It has all sorts of crap in it. The smell is the off gassing. Put it in the garage or outside until the odor is long gone and then use it far away from your bedroom.

petroleum based foams have PBDEs built into them. (besides the foam itself being toxic) when this foam begins to break down or crumble it actually becomes worse as it becomes an airborne dust and everytime you walk through your house you kick it up and breathe in those poisons. They have found this is the greatest way that PBDEs (found in breast milk and newborn babies cord blood at alarming levels) are getting into the human body. So basically you have the toxic offgassing when it is new (VOCs) and that gets better with age, and then the airborne dust (SVOCs) when it is old that gets worse with age.
We have made it our mission to little by little get rid of all the petroleum based foams in our home......
